During an outing to find essentials (spoiler alert: toilet paper is still impossible to come by), I filmed what it’s like in Destin without the bustle of tourists.
Local- and tourist-staples like AJ’s and Harry T’s sit empty. Hog’s Breath Saloon closed permanently. Traffic is a trickle. HarborWalk is empty, but the music still blares.
Suffice it to say: It’s weird.
But weird times do not mean creatives should stop creating. Now, more than ever, people turn to the internet for information, entertainment, and connection. Creatives, let’s give it to ’em.
For those interested, I shot this amateur video on my OnePlus 5T mobile phone, edited it in Adobe Premier CC, and recorded the music myself. During the outing, I covered my nose and mouth, and avoided other people. The only thing I touched was my own phone.
